It Started with the Cars
We’ve always been into cars. Finding them, working on them, driving them, going to shows, planning trips around them and generally spending far too much time talking about them.
Bonnet & Boot came from that, along with the idea that old automotive panels don’t necessarily need to end up scrapped, stored in the back of a garage or forgotten about.
With the right artwork and finish, a bonnet, boot lid or other panel can become something completely different – a piece of automotive wall art that still feels connected to the car it came from.
We make them for people like us: people who notice the details, remember particular cars, liveries and eras, and understand why sometimes a bit of old metal is worth hanging onto.

Some designs celebrate a recognisable period of racing history. Others are created around a customer’s own car, favourite number, memorable journey or personal idea.
Original or Reproduction?
We create our pieces using both original automotive panels and high-quality reproduction panels.
Sometimes an original is exactly what the design needs, complete with the small marks and imperfections that come with age. Other times, a reproduction panel makes more sense, particularly where size, weight or wall mounting are important.
There’s no hard and fast rule; we use whichever best suits the finished piece.
We’ll always be clear about what you’re buying. The panel type will be stated in the product description or agreed with you before a commission begins.
From Workshop to Wall
Every piece starts with preparation. An original panel may need stripping, repairing and refinishing, while a reproduction panel gives us a clean blank canvas to work from.
From there, paint, powder coating, custom wrap, graphics and carefully chosen details bring the design together. Our Dirty finishes take a different approach, with scuffs, fading and patina applied by hand so no two are quite the same.
Once everything is finished, the piece is reassembled, photographed and prepared for display.
There might be a lot more work behind it than you’d think when you see it hanging on the wall.
Real Pieces for Real Spaces
Original automotive panels often retain small marks from their previous life. We see that character as part of the story, not something that always needs to be erased. Carefully prepared and transformed, they become distinctive artwork for homes, garages, offices, private collections, showrooms and automotive businesses. Whether you own the car, remember watching it race or simply dream of having one someday, the right piece brings that connection into the space around you. Use one strong, full-width photograph of a finished piece in a real setting, with a smaller close-up showing the panel’s patina or hand-finished detail.
Ready to Display
Wall pieces include the appropriate mounting system and guidance. Freestanding frames are available for selected designs, while larger displays may need specialist delivery or fitting. Please speak to us if you’d like help planning the installation.
Made for the Wall
Our pieces are created as decorative automotive art. Original fittings, seals and mountings may be removed or altered, so they shouldn’t be assumed suitable for road use. Please speak to us first if you require a vehicle-ready panel.
