A different kind of Porsche event at Goodwood

We love an unplanned #roadtrip and this one to the annual #flat6show at #goodwoodcircuit was well worth the drive, our last-minute ticket courtesy of one of the guys in the #9werks group who couldn’t make it.

The trip was well organised by Lee and Andy, with a some of the group staying over at the White Horse at Chilgrove. Was a pleasure to share a nice meal and drinks with a lovely bunch of people the night before; the Sticker Queen was especially chuffed to be sharing a table with Steve, another air-cooled VW nut!

Celebrating all things Porsche; air and water cooled, old and new, race and road, this relaxed event was really well attended and being our first time at Goodwood, it was a real treat.

The static display had something for everyone, the highlight for me being the 1960’s 912 with just enough #restomod about it to be subtly stunning. Also getting a lot of attention was Fifteen Eleven’s reimagined 914, an absolute masterpiece of engineering down to every minute detail and I was also impressed by the new design of the Porsche Classic stand.

There was plenty of background noise with visitor’s rides on track, and while wifey was off taking pictures of the less obvious, I hit the Taco van and listened to the live 9Werks podcast.

As we’ve not been before, we weren’t sure if there were normally more traders but couldn’t help thinking that if there were, they’d make a killing!

All in all, a great trip, the weather behaved itself and we’re already looking forward to next year!
