Vintage Lorries on Pendine Sands

We spent some of today at Pendine Sands for the Heart of Wales Vintage Lorry Run, and what a brilliant sight it was.

The beach was filled with vintage trucks of all shapes, sizes and colours, from beautifully restored classics to old working vehicles still wearing traditional signwriting and familiar names from Britain’s haulage history.

Even if trucks aren’t normally your thing, you can’t help but appreciate the time, effort and dedication that go into keeping these old girls on the road. These are substantial pieces of machinery, and preserving them takes far more than the occasional polish. Behind every vehicle is an owner who has invested countless hours in finding parts, carrying out repairs and keeping a little piece of our motoring heritage alive.

Pendine Sands made a wonderful setting for them too. Seeing the lorries lined up against the beach and surrounding cliffs gave us the chance to admire the details properly and, naturally, take far too many photographs.

I did a walk video around when they'd all parked up and I've put my favourite images below.

Looking forward to next year.
