On a glorious April Sunday, the former WWII bomber training site at Bicester Motion hosted the second Scramble of 2025 – and what a day it was.
If you’ve never been, Scramble is a bit of a pilgrimage for anyone into cars, especially those with a soft spot for old aircraft hangars and historic buildings... it's not your average car meet, it’s more of an experience.
Anyone who braved the January event will know what a difference the weather made. This time around, we swapped slush and numb fingers for sunshine, live music, and cold beer – a proper spring vibe.
The legendary Carrera GT was there again, because of course it was – clearly not shy of a bit of weather, good or bad. Driven, not hidden, as they say.
I made the trip in the Fjord Green 996, thanks to a very kind invite from my mate Owain at DNHC. The event also saw a record turnout from the collective – we even managed to take over the square outside Sports Purpose for a group photo. Safe to say, we made our presence known.

As with every Bicester Scramble, the mix of cars was brilliant – you never know what you’ll find. One standout this time was the Lancia Monte Carlo Owners Club. I counted at least 80 of them, which is wild considering I don't think I’ve ever seen one in the flesh before. That’s the magic of Scramble!
Normally I’d be heading off around lunchtime when things start winding down, but not this time. I was sticking around the Midlands for a visit to Center Gravity the next day, so I had the rare luxury of hanging about – soaking up the atmosphere, checking out the last of the cars, and making the most of the taco van.
All in all, a cracking day out... roll on the October Scramble.
