The Porsche and Rothmans collaboration across the most varied of motorsport competitions began in 1982 with the epic Le Mans 1,2,3 and culminated in 1984 with an overall win in the gruelling Paris-Dakar. 
​The Porsche 953 #176 with the French duo Dominique Lemoyne and René Metge pushed on for three weeks steering the 911 to overall victory in its inaugural outing.
With victories in the World Endurance Championship, European Rally Championship and finally the Paris-Dakar the Rothmans Porsche iconic livery would be forever in automotive history right up to present day with the current Porsche 911 Dakar sporting Rothmans inspired Roughroads livery.
