The red and white of the 1970’s overall winner at Le Man was inspired by the colours on the Austrian and Saltzburg flags.  Now one of the most iconic motorsport liveries; our take on the Saltzburg design is bold and eye catching just like the Porsche 917K.
Porsche arrived at the 38th Grand Prix of Endurance in 1970 as favourite, and on target to grasp its first overall victory at 24 hours of Le Man.  The race was won by the veteran German driver, Hans Herman with Richard “Dickie” Attwood in the co-driver seat.  The main competition was a brace of Ferrari’s 512s but heavy rain during most of the race tamed their power, helping Porsche to its first overall victory.
